Singapore is a country with a siege mentality. One which shapes its entire societal mindset and domestic and foreign policy. You can come here as a business owner or as a skilled labourer. I'm guessing the latter. The more experienced, reputable and generally skilled you are the easier it is to get a visa. It helps if you already have an employer here. After six months you can apply for Permanent Residency(PR) which is basically a permanent visa. You should look into this yourself, I'm not an expert immigrating to my own country.
