Thai people's skin can be anywhere from African dark to Hokkaido light and most of that depends on how you take care of your skin and how often you're out in the sun.
So it logically follows that Thai society sees light skin as being upper class and rich because you don't have to work outside while dark skin is more associated with working class people. So what does this have to do with race at all? Because Thais don't find dark skin attractive on everyone else, including Africans, that means it's racism? Black Africans come in many shades too, not just ink jet black, and you will find that these people also prefer lighter skin tones for themselves.
