Well it makes sense , Ron and Trump only share few viewpoints common. Ron Paul isn't the type of person to sell out his ideology for Trump , and he doesn't want to hurt Rand's feelings. Maybe Ron can see through Trump's bullshit, but still Ron had his chance.
Ron Paul is a miles smarter when it comes to politics than Trump, he deserved to be the president.

But now seeing how the rhetoric and interparty conflicts have gotten more extreme...
I think I'll vote for Trump if he's the GOP nominee or even a third-party candidate.

yea, it makes me sad to think that ron paul was our only shot.

i just watched a trump speech for the first time, about 10 mins ago, and i wanted to die. his supporters seem so fucking brain-dead. all he had to say was something about building the wall and people started chanting "USA USA". Then he started talking about making an even bigger military.. like we need even more taxes for that. not to mention he's going to socialize medicine, but do it better than obama, supposedly.

ron paul seemed to be the only one that knew why our country/econmy was fucked up. i want to believe trump knows why too, but he never seems to touch on that issue, other than to say he'll make it better with no real explanation.

I feel like if Trump got experience as a governor , than he would be perfect as a president because he would have political experience.

That approach carries the risk of letting your underlings actually make the decisions. If all you do is read reports from them and make your final decisions based on that info, then they can write them in a manner that promotes their agenda.

Maybe you'll finally realize that /pol/ isn't one person. There are anarchists, extreme authoritarians, and everyone in between. Trump is popular with /pol/ moderates because he is memeworthy and entertaining, but few of his supporters have a thorough grasp (right or wrong) of economics or political philosophy. If you're looking for true ideologues, /pol/ is no different from the real world; they are a fringe minority.

Many libertarians believe this cause letting the market work at it's top level of efficiency means not artificially stopping the natural flow of workers. Illegals are mainly bad because they fuck up the economy. They fuck up the economy because they leach programs while at the same time not paying taxes. In Ron's perfect America you got no programs to leech and no income tax. Many things that are currently problems are only problems because of problems that are already around you see.

Not really. Libertarianism exists to some extent everywhere. It is simply what exists by default in the spaces where busybodies are not currently staking out power.

No country ever collapsed by caring too much about small government. Disasters are always accompanied by government expanding.

Did you niggers miss out on the 24/7 Hitler worship threads back then or what?

Everyone loves Ron Paul, but don't pretend like /pol/ hasn't been looking for a nationalist strongman who speaks in memes since the board opened.

If you can't see the writing on the wall that this is our last chance to get immigration under control, and kill the TPP that will turn half the world into an even shittier version of the EU, while bringing back jobs to keep the country from turning into a 3rd world, then you are just retarded.

You can fight for liberty and small government once we keep the country from dropping dead.

Whenever immigration is at the forefront of the voters minds' libertarians will lose. Ron Paul was popular because of the war and government spending. Immigration was not the key issue. Now it is. Trump beats the crap out of Ron Paul on all the issues. Suck it.

Doesn't matter. Open borders/no nations is a ploy to develop larger populations of cheaper labor to make more of a profit at the cost of one's citizens. It ain't just "Dey turk ur jerb" rednecks but now white collars who are getting a taste of what they mocked others for with Indians and Asians being shipped in to work for cheaper than locals.

Open borders would lead to a dystopian hell full of sectarianism, ethnic cleansing and suffering with increased polarity between the richest rich and the rest of us the likes of which we've never seen before.

If a foreign country's government is subsidizing their industries to make them more attractive to buyers, they're essentially chipping in a part of the cost for you. We that doesn't make any sense because Alex jones is on the trump train

>>68100950

Let me put it this way: Ron Paul is Thomas Jefferson and Donald Trump is Andrew Jackson. The latter might not be as intellectual or ideologically pure as the former, but he's still a hell of a lot better than the alternative, and even if all he does is fuck shit up, he has identified the right shit to fuck up.

He wants to audit the fed, like Paul. He wants to cut taxes and reduce or remove many federal agencies, like Paul. He wants to secure the border, as, IIRC, Ron Paul did in the past. He wants to reduce our presence overseas, as Paul did in his campaigns.

Does he go as far as Ron Paul in those areas? Maybe not, but he's also more likely to achieve all of those goals. The best case scenario for Ron Paul was, even if he somehow got into the White House by some miracle, 4 years of vetoing everything that hit his desk.

We're living in a time when a true Fascist like Hillary Clinton, and an open Communist like Bernie Sanders, are both considered viable and respectable candidates for the Presidency. When negroid and communist thugs are engaging in political violence the likes of which we have not seen since the '60s, and which harkens to the '20s. We're dealing with a Democrat party whose head, Obama, declared US Constitutionalists a bigger threat to America than Muslim Terrorists.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.
>>

>God forbid someone use the power of the state for us instead of against us. That's, like, fascism.

The federal government isn't supposed to be powerful. The states need to be more powerful and the federal government needs to be weakened so our constitution and bill of rights can remain intact. I don't believe Trump will restore the constitutional republic. I agree with decentralization, and I think Trump does too. He wants to end CommonCore, for example. Right now the Federal Government has so much power it would take decades of roll-back to get it to a reasonable state.

As far as foreign policy goes, giving up an Empire is even harder than conquering one, and can't be done over night. I would like to see law-enforcement decentralized, and self-defense legalized unequivocally, but the military can't just be dissolved overnight. We gave up on that kind of isolationism a hundred years ago, when we supplanted the old European Imperial order.

Trump's goal, of making the business of securing global security less of a charity, and getting some of our dickless allies like NATO and Japan/South Korea on their feet and capable of defending themselves before pulling back and leaving them to the wolves/chinese/muslims is, I think, the most prudent course, and the course which is most in our national interests.

To be fair, that's not saying much.
Hope they get that 5% this election.

America can produce loads of goods that the global economy wants. Particularly food in the Mississippi River delta and the Midwest. America out produces any other country in livestock feed, corn, wheat, and a few boutique crops that are grown in California. We produce coal and oil at an amazing rate. We also build weapons at an exceptionally large rate.
So let us rule trade in those fields.
Wanting slave-labor tier products at an artisan rate would push American consumers far backwards. We should specialize in what we are good at, and let foreign countries mass produce what they're good at. If you think America could produce a majority of goods at home you're either stupid or delusional.
