Before I was redpilled I used to watch them, kind of for the same reason you read a tabloid newspaper. They cover exactly what they want to cover in the exact way they want to present it.

I started watching them sometime in 2008/9, so I think I can provide a pretty comprehensive overview.
Back when it was just Cenk and a couple of his buddies, it was pretty great. Cenk's a smart guy, razor sharp on politics, and he used to be a pretty decent guy. Then the company started growing, which meant hiring more people, mostly young liberals just out of college. It was all downhill from there; once he started surrounding himself with liberal zombies, the company became an echo chamber and cenk lost a lot of his edge. He was the voice of (angry) reason back when he started the show in 2005, when the Bush administration was still in full swing. Even back in '09 he spent as much time blasting Obama for not having the balls to actually stand up for progressive policies like prosecuting bankers, closing guantanamo, and choosing the public option over selling out to the health insurance industry, as he did flinging shit at conservatives. But as the years went by it felt more and more like he was just pushing the progressive party line. Don't get me wrong, he's not a sell out, and he still occasionally tries to pull back on some of the more SJW shit, but mostly he's just going along with the progressive flow now rather than actually doing anything original.
It's sad. I learned a lot about the details of American politics from him. He still has some good insights into the pure political stuff, but mostly TYT is just 'white privilege' and 'rape culture' now. Like I said, it was hiring a bunch of liberal kids that did it. Anna Kasperian wasn't too bad - she's pretty mediocre intellectually, which she's clearly made up for in her life through sheer hard work, but her small redeeming feature is that she actually cares about things like journalistic ethics and, well, the truth. But that blonde girl they hired who seems to be hosting a lot recently is so vapid and un-intellectually curious that she's like a caricature of the dumb valley girl stereotype.

I watched TYT almost every day back in the early twenty tens. Stopped watching almost entirely in the last year, but I've started up again recently (only the political commentary, though): it may not be nice to watch now, but they do a lot of in-depth political analysis, and it's important to know what the views of the other side are. If you have adblock I encourage you to do the same.
A small illustration of how they've changed since the old days and how corrosive the leftism has become: Dave Rubin is a gay comedian who used to have his own show on the TYT network. Now he's left TYT and is hanging out with the likes of Milo Yiannopoulos.
