Free is bad in America because just about the whole point of higher education is getting the marketable skills to land a job making 60, 80, 100, or more thousand dollars a year.

The school loans get paid off relatively quickly after the job is landed.

And then people get the rest of their lives to enjoy a pretty high income for themselves and their family, which is only better if taxes are low.

But with free education, essentially, people will be :paying off" student loans in the form of much higher taxes for the rest of their lives. In order to pay for the schooling of everyone that comes after them.

Which only gets worse once all the art degree kiddies start going wild and leaching off the system.

Free education just doesn't produce a higher quality pupil/product at the end of it all because socialism ignores human action and motivation completely. Not to mention essentially demotivating people from working harder to get more.
>>

>Do the professors work for free?!!

I hope this isn't a serious question. Do you realize who pays public school teachers/cc professors already, don't you?

They are ALREADY being payed by the government (FEDERAL GRANTS, FEDERAL LOANS) which is what the majority of students go to college on.

Why not just skip given then money to the student and just... Let them go for free.. Then at least niggers won't be able to spend federal aid on 400 dollar Dre headphones in the book store.
>>
cucks who decided to go to shitty schools with massive loans and realized in hindsight everyone else should pay for their mistake
>>
>>68059461

I don't think that's the role of government in the first place.
>>
>>68059449
You're paying for niggers in jail, paying for your kids college isn't the end of the world.
>>
I'll break it down for you.

There are two authentic candidates in the race. They are Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. Everybody else is a corporate puppet who answers to donors and not voters and espouses an agenda for donors and not voters.

Sanders is more popular than Trump because the millenial generation is extremely liberal according to polling down by Republican Frank Luntz.

Everybody is tired of corporations buying politicians and the message which really resonates with young people is the idea of breaking up Wall Street's outsized influence in politics. Sanders' campaign is a progressive sequel to the dismal failure that was called "Occupy Wall Street."

Free college education and legalization of marijuana are also enormously popular policies among the younger generation because they directly concern them, even though most have not bothered to consider the costs of these policies.

Because the "Republican utopia" worked so well in Kansas and Louisiana.

I mean! I know I am better off working for $12.00 per hour now as I was working for $12.00 per hour in 1985, what with the price of a fast food lunch going for $1 then as opposed to what, $9 now?

And rent! That's stayed the same...errr lets see $99 per month in 1985 to what $700 now?

The only difference between communism and capitalism is that the commies were smart enough to know they were being screwed, and 30 years later the Americans are still in the dark...

And it's not just university. Most of the world's medical breakthroughs, wonder drugs, etc. come from the US as well (consider how many Nobel Prizes in physiology or medicine the US has versus the rest of the world combined).

For-profit is a necessary evil needed. Government-sponsored tax-funded "free" anything is usually worse than leaving it to the free market.

Bernie Sanders's free college and free healthcare platform sounds promising until you don't consider the fact that the entire world's standard of education and medicine will stagnate. Other countries can provide free shit because the US doesn't.

This society is fucked beyond recognition. Your government is totally corrupt.

The Problem person is always a conservative.

There was never a Communist movement gaining too much traction in America. The fear of it was enough to allow our corporate overlords to drive any sign of leftism out. They killed the labor movement, deregulated the financial sector, and de-legitimized opposition to free trade and American imperialism. Now if you can't see how fucked everything is you're beyond hope. But cling to the 'BUT SOCIALISM = STALIN MAO POL POT ETC' narrative if it makes you feel good. Just don't be surprised when America is surpassed in every way.

They aren't lost to shitty public education, they're lost to shitty households. We've experimented multiple times with increasing the funding of public school systems--at times on an epic scale, as in Kansas City--and every time, it has a negligible effect on the actual grades and performance of the students.

Good education starts at home. The school cannot make a child care about his future.

You have no idea how a free market works. Private schools are better because they have to compete with each other, and their potential customers can choose which school they want to send their kids to based on the results that school achieves- so the more successful a school is the more money it makes, so yes capitalism is a more efficient way of running almost any enterprise.

With socialised schooling schools get more money the LESS successful they are, everyone sinks to the lowest common denominator and we end up dumber than 29 other countries

Collusion is illegal, one of the few responsibilities of a properly functioning federal government would be reasonable regulation of trade which includes breaking up collusion.

Basic needs and enterprises are not mutually exclusive, one of the best ways to fulfill a basic need is through (reasonably regulated) capitalism, the evidence for this is abundant

Public school systems often try to address their unsuccessful districts by increasing budgets, but no matter how much money they throw at public education the results never improve
>>

>in a healthy nuclear family
They really just need even one parent who cares and has the time to set them on the path and encourage them.

The problem with nigger families is that many of them are doing the exact opposite, education is 'white'.

That said do not discount the power of an educational system to motivate or demotivate a student.

The current system is completely demotivational by the way, rote learning to the test is not interesting at all. We teach a whole generation to be cucks by making them suck it up and sit through it.

>>
>>68068177

Many of those countries are the size/gdp of one of our states/regions, and are culturally/racially homogenous. Take niggers out of the equation and the numbers are a LOT different for the US- the biggest problem with our education system is our demographics crisis which is an entirely seperate issue. Im not saying we shouldnt have strong public schools but extending that mentality into university education is absolute nonsense, niggers would destroy high education like they did k-12
>>
>>68068777

People understand how taxes work. People in America understand that you are required to work to survive. Many are waking up to just how this country works. These people understand that before the debate can even move to social programs in the US, the critical issue that must be addressed is how political power in our so-called republic belongs to a small, extremely wealthy group. That's the core of Bernie's campaign. Those who think it's about FREE SHIT have been duped.

Oligarchy != capitalism, its a strawman. Many industries (like cable companies) are currently subject to monopolies/collusion/etc. not because they are privatized but because our oligarchal government has helped to prop them up and erect barriers to entry for their competition. thats not reasonably regulated capitalism. Here is a recent story from my hometown of Atlanta, where teachers and administrators from the public schools were convicted of racketeering and sent to prison.

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/apr/01/atlanta-teachers-found-guilty-cheating

They were openly cheating on standardized tests and actually cooperating to change incorrect answers, so they wouldn't get cut off from those sweet, sweet federal bennies.

If you think similar things are happening, on a comparable scale, at private schools, you are delusional. President Obama just made a huge initiative to not punish black kids in school so the numbers would be more palatable.

But don't worry about graduating illiterate retards and decimating the value of our primary education, lets send everyone to free community college!

Oh and here's an explanation to get you riled up:

Because the younger generations sans the ones who are SJWs are able to actually rationally think about things.

Yes what he is promising seems like a utopia, but only compared to america, because american politics has long been lead by a combination of corporate interests and retarded puritanical morals.

yes

Because young adults are struggling with this ruined economy thanks to the disgusting selfish Baby Boomers. There are no jobs and we need help. Bernie will help us erase are debts and give us opportunities.

>You know why accountants are paid quite a bit of money, right ?
Because a large responsibility is placed on them getting their calculations right and not losing their customer's money?

Doesn't make the math required any harder though.

Why aren't parents helping their kids through college?
>>
>>68072774
>because everyone comes from rich mommy and daddies

Some of you don't understand how lucky you are, it's probably the reason for /pol/'s hate for the underprivileged and it's superiority complex.

My parents used my "college fund" to remodel their kitchen.
I wish I was joking.
>>

I agree in theory, but real colleges are just indoctrination factories at their worse and job training centers at their best.

Functioning as job training centers is noteworthy as it is basically businesses outsourcing employee training costs to the employee.
>>
>>68072525

Young generations are historically the worst at rational thought, especially millenials who are told they're special snowflakes who deserve the world on a platter all their lives. Bernie supporters are spoiled children complaining BUT HE HAS MORE THAN I DO I WANT IT
>>

rarer than fuck

Do well in school and get a scholarship. Go to trade school and use your trade to save for uni. Have the least bit of personal responsibility instead of being a fucking parasite
>>
>>68072885
Nigger, at least half of the burger /pol/acks are vets or tradesman.

Hardly rich, suburban kids. You gotta make your own way. In fact, if you are worried about college, move to Florida. UF tuition is currently 104 a credit. Thats just over 12 grand for a degree from one of the best public universities in the country. And you can make installation payments or do courses online.

Its not as impossible as some would have you believe.

>I agree in theory, but real colleges are just indoctrination factories at their worse and job training centers at their best.
I completely agree.
There needs to be a lot more things done about the educational system than just making colleges more available.

>>68073038
I fail to understand how you can realize that a tiny global elite are oppressing the rest of the world,
and at the same time say that demanding that the rich/companies pay taxes like everyone else because they shouldn't have special power is being entitled.

I did great in school. Got a 30 on the ACT and applied and was accepted into many good colleges. Applied to every scholarship I could.
The best scholarship I got was $8K a semester to a school that cost $20K a semester to go to.

Because they've yet to conform with mediocrity and give up on improving the state of the country.

you cant compete because you're more entitled than a millenial since your asking wage will always be higher than the equilibrium.

admit it, you're a useless rent seeker

I know about the scandal in Atlanta.

>If you think similar things are happening, on a comparable scale, at private schools, you are delusional.

I went to a private school, I knew the course administrators well enough to know just how many 'extra chances' and grades they had to pencil whip in order to please the top.

Let's just say that there is a moderate-good chance some of these people who graduated will kill someone or themselves.

Sounds like you should probably vote Trump if that's what you're concerned with.
>>
>>68069089
If you want to talk closing loopholes for rich assholes, look to Trump.
>>
>>68073217

You are pretty much confirming what he said. You are basing your world view on your massive superiority complex rather than what's best for all of your countrymen. When I said all. That includes people from the lowest socioeconomic status.

well said burgerfriend

but I have to say that for-profit isn't even an evil at all
it just basically punishes you for making bad decisions (like choosing to major in underwater basket weaving) instead of things that will land you a better job/higher wage
>>
>>68073906
>i'm a rich spoiled asshole
>i'll close loopholes for rich assholes
very believable.

Either way the point is, with the additional income from actual taxes sanders' promises could be fulfilled.
COULD because just like trump won't be able to get most of his shittery (should he try to implement it) past congress so won't bernie
>>
He panders to brainwashed liberals who think "social justice" is the goal of society

There's already too many nig nogs and do-nothing tatted hipster trash who use universities as a 4+ year free lunch. Why let even more of them overburden the system, and not even have to pay for the privilege?
