Is Belgium a failed state? Let's take a look at the standard dictionary definition:
a nation in which the government has lost political authority and control and is unable to fulfill the basic responsibilities of a sovereign state.
I guess by now everyone knows we captured one of the fugitive terrorists from the Paris attacks. However, what's stunning is that for 3 months he was able to hide in his own hometown, right in the middle of the capital of the EU, barely 200m away from where he used to live. And for 3 months they couldn't find him. The captured terrorists even admitted they would take regular walks through the city and past the local police precinct.
Then, when the police finally did get him, they got harassed and attacked by 100s of the locals, who in all likeliness knew where he was hiding and actively helped him. The entire city. I think it's safe to say the Belgian government has absolutely no control left over this area.
Now the really sad thing is, even though Molenbeek is the most well-known no-go zone in Belgium, there are many others like it all over the country.
Looking at the definition of a failed state, and realizing there are many areas where our government effectively has no control, is it safe to say Belgium is well on the road to becoming the next Somalia, Libya, Syria?

Sounds like it's getting there

Problem is that our country's very divided. A lot of the Dutch and French speakers literally hate one another. Due to this there's little to no national pride for the country itself. The only time people are happy to be Belgian is when our football team's playing. The country has almost become uncontrollable for the political powers.

brussel en wallonie is mislukt

belgie is een staat geen land. Hoe sneller dat belgie barst hoe sneller de twee landen en naties hun zaken op orde kunnen stellen
Come home
Belgian man

I wouldn't even mind. We'd be an economic superpower.

Why not kick out the Walloons?

Ditch Wallonia and Brussels.

I can't find it, but they did know he was living in the community. It's a dangerous thing, if only our politicians had a spine and weren't just in it for the money.
>>68021726
the walloons aren't the problem, it's the socialists, and i'd rather see an united benelux than a "goot-nederland" without giving up half of belgian territory to the fucking french
>>68020473
>>68021726
We should *definitely* kick out the Walloons.

Remove Kebab.

Update: The news just said there's riots going in in Molenbeek. If only they'd just completely purge the area.

Please explain to me how is your country any better ? You got your own problems with muslims too. Flanders becoming independant and kicking out muslims would make more sense than flanders joining netherlands. Now if you kick all your muslims out first we'll see.

It was all over the news yesterday. At least, here in the Netherlands.

Are they genuinely rioting over a terrorist getting arrested? Good job making Muslims look bad, you stupid muslims.
What have the protesters been doing/saying?
