1. Shoes are one of the few things that people can flaunt to show status that aren't super expensive

my DC skate boots from 8th grade fell apart recently(fuckin troopers though, i loved the old design of those skate shoes and they were sturdy as fuck) so i had to buy new ones. I literally searched for the cheapest low-key shoes that are black. Found the Puma Elsu, they are cheap, look decent so i went with it.
I'd understand if they flaunted around some Gucci or custom made shoes that actually reflect the money they paid for it, but the vast majority of these cost like 50$ to make at best.
