These people know something isn't right from a very young age, and strive to change it once they come to terms with it. They act according to the social norms expected by their chosen sex and don't whine about it. They get jobs and function in society as their chosen gender. They don't make a big deal of it, they don't parade down the streets in pink boas with their dicks out, they don't share their "story" with anyone but closest friends, family and their partner.
But then you get all those trans people who "transition" in their fourties, once they have spouses and families. Through their selfish decisions, fuelled by some mid-life crisis desire to drastically change something about themselves, they get a sex change and destroy the lives of their wives/husbands and kids.
Same with the teenagers that come up with bullshit genders and ruin their young bodies with hormones because they're edgy and want to be different. I will say from my experience biology is slipping. It needs to be merged with engineering in my opinion. It should be taught as programming, and then as biological engineering/processes. Considering the nature of what it is there isn't any randomness to it.

So let's break that down; they use intuition, and feelings to guide them. One could certainly argue that they are right but there is no provable method of proving they are right. In psychology they when in debate will refer to the higher authority because of that.
