Switzerland has a similar approach like America culture wise. It always was a mix of the surrounding countries in weakened forms. So you can say it's less than in France or Germany but still remarkable. This and Switzerland has a long nationalistic tradition and became pretty good at giving political rights only to people with swiss parents or with 16 years or more of living here.
