I've got this Rifle in .308 with 20" barrel. Make sure you inspect your rifle before you buy. Remington has gone down in QC since being aquirred by Cerberus Capital(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerberus_Capital_Management) I love mine but make sure there are no obvious defects before you spend your money. Within the first 2 weeks, don't leave the shelter for more than an hour at a time, and do so with some kind of mask to prevent you breathing in alpha-emitting particles (these will turn your insides into goo, quickly)
Make sure you also dust off your clothing before going back inside the shelter, storing the clothes separate from everything else, and immediately showering when you come back inside.
