Used to be great. Obnoxious, loud, and unrelenting. Shows were violent and crazy. Those were the good old days. Leftists and SJWs permeated the culture and ruined it like they ruin everything else. Yeah pretty much. When it comes election time I generally vote conservative based on the fact centralized government is oppressive and needs to be reduced or eliminated as much as possible, while most of the other people I know into punk vote liberal. I like to point out how they're hypocrites for claiming to believe in anarchy but vote for the expansion of oppressive government and the suppression of individual rights.

Rock n roll HAS to be subversive let alone punk rock. You cannot be subversive on the left anymore. I also think music is an exhausted medium. Honestly, what left is there do? The would-be punks and rocker spirits will do subversive things on the internet now. This is really the expansive medium where are no limits to your creativity. /pol/ is good but I'd like to see something more community based with less anonymity and more efforts towards recruitment.
If you're not out in the open you're not fully subversive either. If everybody gave visibility on /pol/ and we became interested in being more militant by efforts of recruitment there is no telling what we could do. We'd be an army. Unlike Reddit, we have the talent, creativity, and MESSAGE to appeal and really start something tremendous.

Johnny Ramone, one of the fathers of the genre, literally said that George Bush (I disagree with the notion he was truly a great leader, but I digress...) was one of the greatest presidents of his lifetime and was a life-long staunch conservative

It was about the fact that punk music was being invaded and commercialized by the mainstream, which has been LIBERAL for 50+ years. Conservatism is in ashes, and Neo-conservatism (which is predominantly left-leaning) has been the only form of conservatism that punk rock has been really been in the presence of.
Besides, nothing about Anarchy is left-leaning, it's literally the farthest right on the political spectrum you could possibly go. That's not to say that there isn't a fair number of liberal punk bands, but that's people latching onto a subculture for its other qualities, not for the core belief of punks in Anarchy and conservative values of limiting or eliminating government because it is oppressive to the individual and extorts them for capital.
The idea of "violent and aggressive liberalism" stems from the fact that most people into the genre know dick all about economics, political science or generally about the basis and history of political ideologies, and simply chose to latch onto it because they're edgy teens that want to say fuck you to daddy for putting limits on their trust funds because they got caught with a joint.
