Pretend to be ignorant and concerned, and ask them to show you the quote, because "it worries me, but I'm not sure it's true, can someone prove it to me?" When they give you shit proof, play dumb and say: "I'm not sure I get it, that looks like someone paraphrasing him, what were his exact words?" Then, when they finally show you his exact quote, ask them to explain what exactly makes it racist, because "I'm not smart about legal things, are there laws that say they can't be here?"
If they don't lose patience with you, just keep subtly asking questions that make it hard for them to explain how it's racism. After they've tried to explain to you for a while, just tell them it sounds like he's saying he wants the law to be enforced, and people from other countries should be taken care of by their own governments.
