I explained to them all how I've been following the US presidential race. Before I even had a chance to tell them how I feel about the whole thing, they all went off on one about how Trump is evil.
The words racist, fascist and idiot were used to describe him. My mother and brothers girlfriend both tried to claim he was racist for wanting to build a wall and deport all illegal Mexican immigrants.
I told them that there's literally nothing wrong with building walls to keep out ILLEGAL immigrants. Nobody ever talks shit about the Israelis, the northern Irish or the Chinese for their wall building, what's the matter with America having a wall?
I also told them that Mexican is a nationality, not a race, not that it even matters since all he's literally saying is deport ILLEGAL immigrants. There shouldn't even be a discussion required there, illegal = against the law we're all happy to have in place.
My brother claimed that Donald Trump has said that he wants to deport all Muslims from the USA. I asked him to find me this quote on his iPhone, funnily enough, he couldn't. My stupid mother expressed her support for Hillary. One of her reasons being that she's a woman. I told her that was feminist fascism and that she was completely full of shit.
I haven't convinced them of Trumps benevolence just yet, but I will carry on fighting for him and everything that he stands for.

American politics, rarely, and I mean RARELY comes up in my family. And when it does it's usually very simplistic like, "isn't there an election coming up in America soon" or something a long those lines. Or a recent example was my Dad talking about Trump's comments on Muslims which is really all people over here know about because it's the only thing we hear about him over here in the news, "Donald Trump said ____ about muslims, le controversy ect.."
My family have absolutely no idea about my level of support and interest in Donald Trump, so I can only imagine how confused they would be if they somehow stumbled upon my Trump folder.
As we get closer to the U.S. general election it will likely be talked about more and more so my plan is to just drip feed them pro-Trump stuff to counter the blatant negativity about him on the mainstream media.

But Trump's Muslim ban policy is racist and Nazi-esque. So is embracing deporting 11 million people instead of reforming the system. Also he's clearly a nationalist isolationist. Very fascist policies. Not a bad thing but it's without a doubt true.
My fiancee was initially concerned because she's an immigrant from Korea that Trump would make it difficult for her to come and marry me. She said she heard he was pretty racist and shouldn't I be voting for Hillary? I explained that Trump himself had an immigrant wife and that because she was coming here legally, it is completely ok. I then went on to explain how the media lies about Trump and pushes instead for establishment candidates because of funding from people like Soros. I then went over a few of Trump's policies, explained why he was actually a great leader, and that all we want is to make America great and prosperous again. She said he sounds good and she wants me to be a leader like Trump of my own family some day. I said absolutely and all is well.

The way that I convinced my family of Trump's exact views is I made them understand how the media spin things. I let them see youtube videos where they can see the context of certain events that made the media exaggerate their narratives. On example is the media's narrative of Trump supporters being violent. I showed them that it's the protesters that provoke the violence by screaming and spitting at Trump supporters. I also convinced them of how hysterical these protesters are after hearing the exact context of Trump's messages. I also proved to them that most of the protestors are very young and bernie supporters. That gave them a better perception about what's going on. I made them understand it's pretty much a dumb kids vs grown adults thing. 'Dumb kids' are the protestors that treat this election like a war and the 'gown adults' are all the people that are are treating this election like an election, where votes decide the candidate, not the kicking and screaming.
