No we are voting for Trump. Gays are not as big if a problem as illegals.
>>
>>67904500

Cali is a closed primary, and illegals can't vote
>>
Trump will win the primary in california for two reasons:

1) The republican primary is a CLOSED PRIMARY, which means only registered republicans can vote, and proof of registration/identity is REQUIRED.

2) Illegals cannot register to vote without a valid SS#
>>
>>67903518
No polls are out for California since Rubio dropped. I'd like to see what kind of shift happens from that.
>>
>>67904735
>>67904609
Polls say he will
>>
>>67905640
But Rubio voters are likely to shift to Cruz.
>>
>>67905312
Trump has done MUCH better in open primaries than closed ones, though. A significant amount of his support comes from disenfranchised voters outside of the GOP.

I'm not saying he'll lose, though.
>>
>>67905747
They may split between Cruz and Kasich. It's really kind of a mess right now and there isn't enough data since Rubio dropped to make any kind of prediction.
>>

I don't think so. Kasich clearly has a few screws loose. The guy is totally deluded and really thinks that winning his home state is a coup. Unless he gets his ass handed to him several more times, he's going to hang in there for another few months, hoping that he can snag the nomination at a brokered convention.

Depends on the turnout. Trump is tied with Cruz here. If turnout is high, then Trump will win.

As Arnold showed in both 2002 and 2006, it's more than possible to get idiots registering as Republicans just to vote for a celebrity. Trump is going a step further by running a voter registration drive out of his golf courses in CA.

At any rate, it'll be 50/50. But even if Trump looses CA, he'll still be the strongest candidate going into a convention.
>>
>>67905747

>>
>>67904189

CA Republicans are different than regular Californians. They remember how Arnold wrecked the party and don't want a repeat. Cruz is the guy they are looking for especially in heavily red districts in the Central Valley and Inland Empire. They want an evangelical.

But, Trump has widespread support inside industrial areas and urban areas since he's more centrist.

Probably Cruz in SF and Trump in LA. Because SF Republicans (yes they exist) tend to be extremely rich and want someone who will wipe the gays away. LA Co Republicans tend to be more middle class and have a stronger focus on immigration, free trade, and infrastructure (especially desalination and HSR).

Also, it's worth remembering that the current Governor of California, Jerry Brown, only has a Dem supermajority since he's a fiscal conservative. Calfiornia's redistricting process is done by a bipartisan commission hence most districts tend to be purple.

Ever been to CA? Rural areas created and passed Prop 8. They want Cruz. LA will likely go for Trump since Cruz isn't pro infrastructure. Cruz will win SF since SF Republicans tend to be 1%er Establishment types that want anyone but Trump. Oakland will probably swing towards Trump though.

you don't have to pay to vote in CA primaries, the RNC primary is open BUT you have to have "Republican" selected as your party of choice on your voter registration. Most Democrats won't do this, since it prevents them from voting in their own primary and they have to remember to do their voter registration before May 23rd

What type of rural? Lodi rural or Canby rural? Because industrial areas tend towards Trump while purely rural areas are filled with hardcore evangelicals that want Cruz. A Republican living within Bakersfield is pro-Trump, but those right outside are pro-Cruz.

>>67911687

Arnold has been totally discredited, thanks to Prop 50 (the fuckhuge bank loan that had almost bankrupted the state). Nobody takes him or the CAGOP (who is pro-Cruz) seriously because of this. Arnold also passed gun control (the hamfisted attempt at a pistol ban now in the courts as pena v cid). Brown, a Democrat, was able to capitalize on this since he balanced the state budget. That's how much Californian Republicans dislike Arnold and the CAGOP (who again, is pro-Cruz).

California is currently run by a Democrat supermajority, that have majorities in both the Assembly and Senate and hold the Governor's office. This happened because Arnold was such a shit Governor. It's strange times we live in. The CAGOP politburo (ie the core party) loathed the obstructionism of the 00s wrought by the more fringe members of the party. Then they lost big in 2008 and never recovered. In an ironic twist, the only Republicans in power are all tea partiers but they receive almost no support from the core party. The CAGOP has chosen to be out of power rather than support "unelectable" libertarians.

However, there aren't any candidates the CAGOP likes running for President (except Kaisch who has no chance). But many Republicans in CA like Cruz since he's a teafag evangelical. It's a marriage made in hell that won't last after the primaries are done. The CAGOP simply loathes Trump more than Cruz at the moment.

Of course it doesn't really matter, since Trump is registering his own voters and could easily win if turnout increases. Just like Arnold did.
