A lack of ethics is everywhere. Food, medicine, energy, finances, politics, architecture, engineering, etc. It's very profitable and very hard to expose due to entire lobbies protecting their ways and businesses. It is a mutual benefit to everyone participating.
Gawker is really an outlier and that is why no one is sticking their neck out for them.
