I guess the capital of the world is either NYC or London at the moment.
NYC must have politcal clout because it is the capital of a supepower, and it gobbled up the HQ's of lots of important organisations. So it should be more important than London, but it is far away from any other relevant capital, and London already matches it on financial power and importance, and London has stronger growth, so the momentum is currently with London, though NYC still has a much bigger GDP.
I wonder if London breaks away from the EU, if there is even a chance that it can become one of those neutral-ish cities like Geneva in which lots of global organisations can set up their HQ's in.
In the long term the capital will shift to somewhere in Asia, perhaps, presumably.

As a Long Island resident, I fucking hate it. Any time I tell people from outside of the state that I'm from Long Island, they think I live in fucking Manhattan.
Everything is claustrophobic in the city. It smells like shit. The whole place is dirty. There are fucking panhandlers everywhere you go, along with vagrants and crazy people standing on street corners. Nignogs are all over the place.
It's also a fucking liberal nightmare. You can't smoke hardly anywhere in the city anymore, everything is taxed to shit.
And because so many fucking dindus and jackasses live there, the rest of New York has to deal with liberal governors, and every presidential election our state is blue. Long Island is pretty purple (leaning red) and upstate NY is pretty staunchly red.

It's why I've been trying to get Long Island to become its own state. Separate from this shithole completely, add two senators, finally have a balanced budget on Long Island (about half of our state taxes never make its way back to us in expenditures), and we would become a battleground state.
