They don't arrest you, they just take you into custody to interview you and proceed from there. If they can tell from the start you were the victim they treat you a lot better and then release you after questioning. Detectives questioned me, but we have 3 cameras set up in our home, and luckily one of the cameras overlooks the den and got perfect footage of the whole thing. I showed them the footage on the central home monitor and they left quickly after I went through an account of what happened.
Funnily enough, we have a camera outside, and it recorded their faces in HD, along with their license plate and front stickers. We had more than enough information already to arrest them, and never even needed to shoot them. God I love Texas laws. I'll tell you right now friends, get yourselves a home security system. They work great.
