At 23 I moved back in with my parents and saved the remaining depost for a house. During this time, no girl would date me for more than a couple of weeks. I mean, just imagine what they would have to tell their friends about me.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm 39 and have been enjoying the unattached life. The big drawback: if you change your mind and wish to get married and have a family, or even just have a family, the pool of decent women shrinks more and more each year. Sure, I could find a mid-20s or younger, but they seem more and more annoying with each passing year.
The alternatives are foreign women (I'm a teacher living in the Balkans, posting on a layover), lots of hotties but you know I'd be sending a big chunk of cash to her poor ass family for the rest of my life.
Another alternative is finding a poor 18 year old, but at this point that sounds more like being a babysitter.
So of you boys decide to go your own way.......be aware the pool's never closed but it gets less desirable. There are plenty of good looking prospects my age, but they come with kids, baby daddies, ex husband's, long stories about child support, etc. Finding an attractive, fun, intelligent, necer married, no kids, and not completely batshit insane woman over 35 is a fucking quest for the holy Grail.
On the plus side I get to keep all of my money. Which is less important than it used to be.
