The only dose of modafinil that has any effect on me is 400mg, it gives me anxiety for about 90 minutes then nothing. I've tried varying doses up to 1200mg over the last year or so and have never felt anything on any other dose. I've tried different brands of moda too. It's kinda weird. I don't feel refreshed or energised or anything.
Then again my body reacts incredibly weirdly to drugs. I genetically have an incredibly high tolerant for stimulants but I can't see how that would impact on modafinil.

I know it works differently from person to person, but for me Modafinil was absolute shit. I got Modalert and used it for like a week at various doses (from 50mg to 600mg). At any dose it gave me horrible muscular tension (surprisingly worse than any kind of upper I've ever used) to the point where it gave me migraines and neck pain.
As far as focus went, it worked too well. I mean at one point I decided to jack off and started looking through porn, and then realized I had been looking for a good video for 3 hours. It won't make you productive if you're already a procrastinator, you'll just have more intense tunnel vision as you distract yourself (browsing YouTube, /pol/, porn, etc).
Finally, the nail in the coffin for this drug was how it made me feel socially. I must have looked like a robot to anyone around me, and I was aware of this while I was on it, but too apathetic to do anything about it. I gave everyone abrupt one word answers, didn't laugh or smile, and had a 1,000 yard stare. Absolutely zero desire to interact with anyone, just a dull bored depressed feeling.
Needless to say, I never reupped on Modafinil. Just stick to the occasional adderall dude.
