I always vote for the guy who is the strongest constitutionalist. Fact is, our constitution is the greatest document ever written. A read through the Federalist Papers and the Anti-Federalist Papers provides a powerful testament to that fact. So, for me, I listen for a candidate to offer his stance on issues in terms of what the constitution allows and does not allow, or in other words, in terms of what powers are afforded to the federal level by the constitution and how important it is for legislators to leave the remaining powers in the hands of the states. Ted Cruz is that candidate.
