If people used AdBlock, these sites wouldn't make profit. Even on /pol/ people post direct links without using archive.is or donotlink.com giving them click money.

It depends. Some low-tech ads/sites probably don't count that, but advertisers know about adblockers and want proof of ad views/clicks. Atleast Google's ads count actual ad loads so AdBlock prevents it.
Some Youtubers with the ad contract actually tell you to disable AdBlock "if you like them and want to support" because it does count actual ad views.
