Let's say there is only a modest increase in college enrollment "because it's free!" :^) and bump that to only 30 million.

60 billion / 30 million = two thousand

Two thousand dollars each to go around for your "free" education!

But wait... we still need to deal with the homeless!

Think on this.

Anyone whose bitching about cost of living in the
United States really needs a head check.

It is quite easy to survive on the "fringes" of American society by working 1 or 2 minimum wage jobs for 40 to 50 hours a week, provided you don't do anything *stupid* like have kids or develop a drug habit on that income.

Its a big time sink in order to survive, but minimum wage jobs are hardly what you could call "Stressful".

In fact, on 50 hours a week with no benefits at ~8.00$/hr, that gives you about $20,000 by years end. You end up spending about $9000 on rent, $6000 ($18/day) on food, $1000 for car expenses, and that leaves $4000 dollars a year left over.

Say you go to school part time for 8 to 10 years (12-15 credits per year) getting a *useful* degree, it is possible if you are dilligent to climb out of poverty within a decade, on minimum wage, with minimal debt, working ~80 hours a week without accumulating debt.

Dude.

Moral Hazard?

Central Bank made over $300 Billion last year on QE and asset purchases... gave $100 Billion to the US Treasury.

WTF.??

Now that is not nearly all.

They have manipulated the Stock Markets, Bond Markets, Commodities Markets, influenced all the foreign markets and carry trades...

But the dotcom crisis was 1999, then the 911 Crisis and US Recession... more manipulated federal funds rates... and the Fed missed all the signs of bubble up to 2007 even when the top of the housing bubble was in Oct 2005...

So the Fed offered discount window loans... not just to banks cause it didn't work... they offered them to corporations of all kinds all over the world.

CPFF program was 2007 - 2010 for corporate paper.

USA has been there for over 60 years.

You don't know what would happen either.

When you get out of the military, ... you might start examining the world you live in and think about more things.

Life starts after you leave the military.

Most of the money in "military funding" goes to private companies to develop shit. It's not actually spent primarily on bombs and airplanes.
>>
>>67809369
fuck the homeless, how about assisting those with a mortgage?

seriously fuck the homeless.
>>

we've spent more on Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security. How is cutting 10% of the military going to change that?

Talk bout priorities, the US Debt is 19 trillion and going to be 20 trillion. How is this huge ass pile of debt being ignored by the Left? Answer me that.
>>
>>67809369

That is factually incorrect. The US spends roughly 500 billion a year on "military."

50 billion a year, 10%, would not pay for just schooling.

Average tuition at an in-state public college is around $10,000.

There are 3.4 million students set to graduate in 2015-2016.

3.4 million x 10,000 = 34 billion

Except you need to multiply that by at least 4 (fresh, soph, junior, senior). So now it's 136 billion a year.

136 billion a year to give everybody free tuition at an in-state public school.

Last time I check you murifats like those things.

Getting rid of unnecessary spending is what matters you fucking caveman faggot. Fuck you stupid 4chan muirfats who keep spouting LEFT LIBERALS. Retards like you never show that you have any sense of identity or take any stance. Your miserable existence comes from opposing things that exist.
>>
I'd rather have people serve in the military and earn a GI Bill (like I did) then have some shitty liberal cuck get to go to college for free to learn/earn some Gender Studies or other equally worthless Humanities degree.

Guys I've got this great fucking idea.

Lets just not have a military! What could possibly go wrong?

>never show that you have any sense of identity or take any stance.

You kind of got it. But I think the UK never had a revolution and the Cromwell Revolution wasn't enough... many former British Colonies seem to be corrupted with British Ideas.

Including USA...

The Trump Phenom is all about the British Trad Model where the Elites get the Profits and the workers loss jobs and compensation through open borders and downward pressure on wages.

WTF?

Anglo people are idiots.

The Trade Model makes the Executives and Trade Moguls rich... not the workers.

The only thing backing the USD is the US military. If a nation threatens to sell oil for anything but USD they get the shit freed out of them. This ensures a constant demand for USD and allows the US to print money.

If the US gutted its ability to stomp the shit out of nations all around the world the dollar would quickly collapse and Americans would be more concerned with getting enough work to afford to eat instead of getting an education.

give money to people so they can be lazy because they no longer have incentive to do anything, at the expense of people who already work hard in the military?

Except china has very little force projection. China would dominate any conflict that happened on/near its borders but it has very little ability to project that force across oceans.

Dad, if you are going to enter the realm of ideas you need to not drink first.

Again, America is 19 going on 20 trillion in debt. We are approaching the Point of no return. The Economic backlash from this debt bubble will make the Great Depression look like a walk in the park. This money has to be paid under 31 U.S. Code ยง 3123 - Payment of obligations and interest on the public debt

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/31/3123

Now, if government is there to serve and protect the people than it should be in everyone's best interest to protect the value of the US dollar in preventing this almost impossible to imagine amount of debt to be paid down.

This (economically speaking) can maintain low cost of goods and services desired in the US, strengthen the US Dollar vs the worlds other currencies, have positive effects on making healthcare more affordable. I am hoping that this would create a positive flow of deflation rather than the negative flow of deflation.

How shitty would education be if it was free?
>>
>>67826020
part of that was because of the clinton military cuts. The US military as a whole was not ready for a military theater operations. This is why stop loss and a huge mobilization of the national guard was needed to cover the wholes in the active duty military in 2005-2010

You chillin'?

Yeah, the talking heads on TV say democracy.

But like we have a military Empire/Republic.

Cost?

$1 Trillion Annually for our Military... I'm sure the old timers are getting kickbacks, bribes, and channeling money to their own bonus money.
