Most of history is nepotism, and people inheriting the situations and professions and politics of their forebearers, for better or for worse. On one hand, growing up with it is actually a halfway-decent justification for the Nepotism. Who better to take the throne than someone who saw it first hand, their whole life? But it's obvious how dynastic politics can be bad, too.
There's a reason Kennedys, Clintons, and Bushes are so popular. Same with Roosevelts back in the day.
Trump might not represent established government nepotism, but his family might, some day. And he is very much the inheritor of privilege and dynasty in the private sector. I imagine he cares very little for the pissed off lower-middle class white folks he panders to, and is more interested in being the first example of what happens when a dynastic CEO takes over the executive branch of the U.S. government and serves as a lobbyist for himself for four years. I don't think the man is dumb, I think he wants to be a major player in both the private and public sector.
