This is how out of touch the GOP is. These faggots are dying to enlist some worthless cuckservative over Trump. Do you this guy will cause a brokered convention?

> Political parties, not voters, choose their presidential nominees, a Republican convention rules member told CNBC, a day after GOP front-runner Donald Trump rolled up more big primary victories.

>"The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That's the conflict here," Curly Haugland, an unbound GOP delegate from North Dakota, told CNBC's "Squawk Box" on Wednesday. He even questioned why primaries and caucuses are held

>"The rules haven't kept up," Haugland said. "The rules are still designed to have a political party choose its nominee at a convention. That's just the way it is. I can't help it. Don't hate me because I love the rules."

GOP can't deny Trump the nomination, he'd just go independent and hand the presidency to Hillary on a silver platter.
>>
>>67790219
That's the thing; they don't care anymore. They'd rather give it to Hillary than have Trump be their nominee.

>>
if the delegates between trump and cruz are close and neither one of them has enough to be nominated, it should be contested

But the nomination should go to either Trump or Cruz, not anyone else in the GOP.

I hope enough people see this. The GOP onviously doesn't care about democracy and they are taunting everyone

It is the truth.

We'll see what happens with the other states. If turnout is still up for republicans and down for democrats, Trump may have a shot if the party galvanizes around him, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. They're going to hand over the general to Hillary.

If the concern was electability at all:

1. They wouldn't be talking about fielding a third party false conservative candidate or doing a brokered convention, because either situation GUARANTEES dem victory, PERIOD. Electability is not a concern in the republican side, that's strictly a red herring for them. Also notice how Joe Scarbarough complains about electability then segues cleanly into egging on a third party run, which would guarantee a Hillary victory.
2. The dems do not believe it either, as otherwise they would be attacking the much more radically far right Cruz instead of pulling out all the stops to attack Trump, who in their fever dreams is easy to beat.
>>

This is what I love about Trump's candidacy. Political figures and members of the media are tipping their hand blatantly. In their desperate bid to stop him from getting to POTUS, they can no longer afford to subtly manipulate and scheme in the shadows, they're basically smoked out of their rabbit hole as they scramble to SHUT IT DOWN.

Dog bless you, mister Trump.

People voting for Bernie aren't going to vote for Trump. Cruz maybe, but definitely not Trump. They will either relent and vote Hillary or not vote at all.

I'm not saying Trump doesn't have a shot, I'm just saying he's heavily unfavored. Trump is placing his bets on the uneducated masses just like Obama did with blacks.

The GOP would not just be handing the presidency to Clinton if they cucked Trump out of the nomination. They would be betraying millions of Americans who voted. The Republican party and GOP establishment would, overnight, turn millions of Republicans away from their party. Permanently. The GOP would lose the trust of millions of their constituents, people who won't forget the rightful candidate was shot down by a corrupt elite who pay no respect to the democratic process. It would be absolutely against everything this country stands for. This intervention would be seen as unAmerican, as authoritarian, as anti-democratic.

The damage this would cause wouldn't just give Clinton the white house, it would fracture the Republican base with million of voters who feel betrayed. The damage it would do to their own party is incalculable.

Even if the GOP loses the general election and Clinton gets the presidency, they have a solid four years of obstinate Senatorial blocking, effectively hobbling Clinton's presidency from the start. Obama didn't have such a crazy divide to work with until 2010, following the Tea Party uprising; Clinton is going to have to work with that from the beginning of her presidency, and with her Obama-successor rhetoric it's looking like it'll be a continuation of the last four years.

You're wrong mate, while legaly they can do anything, it goes against the intent of the founding fathers

Haugland's justification for disenfranchising the electorate is strictly procedural but negates the spirit the founding fathers intended to respect the will of the people, not to usurp them by manipulating procedural rules to the advantage of the oligarchy. As per Thomas Jefferson, "I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Unsuccessful rebellions indeed generally establish the encroachments on the rights of the people which have produced them. An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions, as not to discourage them too much. It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government." - Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, Paris, January 30, 1787.

As I said, I support Trump and would gladly take him over Shillary. But the old witch is a seasoned veteran when it comes to posturing and demagoguery. If the Don is to win over the general election crowd during their national debates, he's gonna need to bring more than the bantz. He needs to solidify and clear up his exact proposals for Making America Great Again as they appear on his website, and he needs to hammer home how much of a corrupt and unprincipled cunt Clinton is.

Although the system isn't direct, delegates have abided by their voters in virtually every primary election to date. The fact that the GOP is even considering using their fail-safe shows you how much Trump is getting to these pricks. Though they'd be within legal bounds to deny the Donald, that would ignite a massive shitstorm that could potentially ruin the party for decades (it's already in shambles). Personally, I don't think they have the balls to go though with it.

Bernie voters will more likely just stay at home before voting anyone in. Unless Hillary suddenly promises free college for all & even then no one trusts her at this point. The same woman that has denied them gay marriage and is pro-war.

As much as I'd love for Germany to vote overwhelmingly for AfD, I'd much rather see that it's the first western nation to collapse under Islamic migration.

Been saying this for awhile. Bernie exists solely to rile-up reddit/occupy kiddies into getting politically motivated.

Without Bernie they'd look at Hillary vs. Whatever, maybe a few would say "first cucked in the white house president! Trump is too raycist!", but Hillary simply doesn't have the freakish level of kiddie support Obama did. They've gotten a good fill of Bernie vs. Hilldog and she needs to Judo-spin that into support.

This is were Hillary is going to try to spin in inconsistency into a good thing. Mark my words, they'll come out with a campaign slogan like "Hillary is a learning computer, she evolves and becomes more progressive! But look at Trump, he was pro gay rights and abortion, now he is a hate monger!, vote for evolution, no De-evolution! Let's evolve together!"

I live near a campus, it was already flooded with Obama shit at this time before he was elected. I've seen like 2 Bernie Bumper stickers.

Cap this post and re-post it when Hillary roles this slogan out.

Thomas Jefferson was great man and thinker who was truly ahead of his time. But as I'm sure you're aware, he was not in lockstep with many of the other Founding Fathers when it came to how our central government and electoral system would be designed (he was a Republican, the writers of the Constitution were primarily Federalists). So much so that he walked out on the convention that produced our Constitution. Alexander Hamilton, whom had an enormous role in writing said document along with James Madison, offered this justification for our Presidential system in The Federalist Papers #68;

"The people of each state shall choose a number of persons as electors, equal to the number of senators and representatives of such State, and vote for some fit person as President. Their votes, thus given, are to be transmitted to the seat of the national government, and the person who may happen to have a majority of the whole number of votes will be the President. But as a majority of the votes might not always happen to center on one man, and as it might be unsafe to permit less than a majority to be conclusive, it is provided that, in such a contingency, the House of Representatives shall elect out of the candidates who shall have the five highest number of votes the man who IN THEIR OPINION may be best qualified for office. This process of election affords a moral certainty that the office of President will seldom fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications."

TL;DR Hamilton and crew believed that Representatives may go against the will of their voters in electing a President should the candidate be arbitrarily deemed unfit.
