Actually, coming from an staunch catholic family with Irish roots, I was always taught not to drink too much (although a couple to celebrate is fine). You especially should not be drinking to excess however as it is Lent, and on years where the day coincides with Good Friday or whatever, you should not celebrate it at all. Might just be my family. I'll take the excuse to get pissed thank you very much.
