Bring back manufacturing to the US. As a mechanical engineering student who will be graduating next summer I see very few job opportunities compared to the masses of people studying engineering.

I had an idea, what if there was a program that provided manual labor jobs that required little to no experience or skill to anyone who was willing to work, they could show up, do some work that needed to be done (perhaps building infrastructure), get paid a fair amount, and leave, without ever having to apply or anything complicated. They get money to sustain them or supplement their income, don't have to worry about being turned down for a job, and only get government benefits if they actually worked for them. The government gets labor.
