he's usually pretty vague about it. does he want an obamacare-esque system but "better?" does he want it but wants to exclude a mandate? because if he's advocated mandated government healthcare he's lost my vote.
>>
>>67732162

He has a history of statements supporting socialized healthcare (government mandated/run) like European nations have.

Gazoogle that shit yo.
>>
>>67732162
he wants more of a free market system with more competition between health insurance companies by dropping the state boundaries that are currently in place. Basically the opposite of socialized healthcare. He's also said directly that he doesn't want mandated healthcare. It's all on his website man.
>>
>>67732162
>>67732306
he also has a history of not supporting socialized medicine, literally his platform. Go to his website and he laid out a shitty muh free market plan. I'm sure you'll love it op
>>
>>67732162
He wants a single-payer healthcare system

I believe privately run
>>
>>67732162
>because if he's advocated mandated government healthcare he's lost my vote.

Are you against medicare?
>>
>>67732617
Medicare is for old folks
>>
>>67732612
not a single payer system senpai

single payer system is socialized and run by the government i.e. not privately run

How would that work. Hi I'm Flo from Progressive. I am not here. I do not exist
>single payer
>>
>>67732714

How is Medicare different than "government healthcare" ?
>>
>>67732787
Nothing about single-payer means that it has to be govt run
>>
>>67732868
It applies only to old folks you have to be a certain age so yeah it is govt healthcare but it's not available to all
>>
>>67732162
Is everyone just going to forget that he laid out a detailed healthcare plan already, which is available to view on his website?

" Donald Trump: Obamacare’s going to be repealed and replaced. Obamacare is a disaster if you look at what’s going on with premiums where they’re up 40, 50, 55 percent.

Scott Pelley: How do you fix it?

Donald Trump: There’s many different ways, by the way. Everybody’s got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, “No, no, the lower 25 percent that can’t afford private. But–”

Scott Pelley: Universal health care.

Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don’t care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.

Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of. How? How?

Donald Trump: They’re going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably–

Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?

Donald Trump: —the government’s gonna pay for it. But we’re going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it’s going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything."
>>
>>67732891
in most cases single payer systems have to be run by the government in order to be single payer. it's what Barnie sandleberg is advocating for.

Here OP, some reading you can do on Trumps thoughts on healthcare.

hes vague on everything because hes an idiot with no actual plans
>>
>>67734280
I think the safest guess is that he will push for obamacare repeal since that's what his current position is
>>
>>67734568

And replace it with what exactly?

Who knows, fuck it, roll the dice right?
>>
>>67732162
He's advocated mandated government healthcare. Everyone is gonna be covered and he wants you to pay for Tyrone's Healthcare with your tax dollars.
>>
>>67734906
the republican alternative seems to be tax free health savings accounts
>>
>>67734568
Does Puerto Rico have Obamacare?

I'm not really familiar with how laws work down there I know yall don't receive federal highway funds cause you wanted to keep the drinking age at 18
>>
>>67735388
That's just Ben Carson's idea

But every first world nation has universal healthcare and it's regarded as superior in all respects, such as cost efficiency and quality of care, by the impartial World Health Organisation.
>>
>>67735684
Why do rich people from the 1st world come to America for healthcare then?

Obviously they don't come over for every little sniffle but for anything serious
>>
>>67735510
It is also something Trump agreed with.

>>67734906
He wants to make healthcare more easily affordable by allowing you to bid for coverage from other states as well. A friend of mine was out of work for 5 months and now has to pay 5% of his earnings for 12 months for obamacare.

Umm, they don't? That's some pretty ridiculous propaganda you've been fed.
>>
>>67735804
>Healthcare should only be able for the elite
Top kek
>>
>>67735454
yeah we do

We also get federal highway funds but it's 10% less because of the drinking age
>>
>>67736006
That was never implied

>>67735910
What is a myth is that the vast majority of Americans don't have access to cheap and readily available healthcare, even macdonalds provide health insurance for its employees
>>
>>67736361
>What is a myth is that the vast majority of Americans don't have access to cheap and readily available healthcare
Well in the first world, it's available to everyone, it's cheaper and it's more available so...
>>
alright, op here. i looked at his website over again and while i'm still not 100% sure about his plan, i'm fine with it because of this bit.
"Completely repeal Obamacare. Our elected representatives must eliminate the individual mandate. No person should be required to buy insurance unless he or she wants to."
this is essentially the most important stance to me. and he said he'll increase competition and free market healthcare-wise so i'm cool with this.

You have to wait months to see anything other than a general practitioner

I can get an appointment with a specialist within the week

>No person should be required to buy insurance unless he or she wants to

He also said "everyone will be covered" and "the gov will pay". So you fine with paying for Jamal's health insurance? All Trump is doing is creating more welfare. Enjoy your tax increase!

Why are you pretending to know how long the Kangaroo's has to wait? Straw-man much?

As an American I have to wait months to see a specialist practitioner. I have Aetna from work.
>>

>You have to wait months to see anything other than a general practitioner
No I don't. What part of "more available" do you have difficulty understanding?
>>
>>67737086
I suppose you want the govt to run healthcare

Take a look at VA or Indian reservation hospitals if you want to see what government run healthcare looks like
>>
>>67736610
>I don't know what his plan is but it involves removing a plan that is currently functioning at least minimally.

he changed his policy literally last week. he now supports the standard establishment plan (remove restrictions on cross-state insurance sales, deductible insurance, HSAs, public pricing, etc).

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/healthcare-reform

analysis of the plan shows it is pretty terrible

http://fiscalfactcheck.crfb.org/measuring-trumps-healthcare-plan/

>By our estimates, Mr. Trump’s plan to repeal and replace Obamacare would cost roughly $270 billion over ten years including estimates of faster economic growth, and nearly $500 billion under conventional scoring.

>The policies would cause almost 21 million people to lose their insurance coverage, as the replacement health care policies would only cover 5 percent of the 22 million individuals who would lose coverage upon the repeal of Obamacare. This would almost double the number of Americans without health insurance.
>>
>>67736838
ok i reviewed some shit and damn he's hard to pin down, as much as i love the guy.
what i've gathered overall is that he will make up for increased taxes with government healthcare from his other stances.
i really don't agree with it to be honest but i think i can forgive him on this.
