These types of debate can be very worthwhile, but only for those refining their skills. After national success, I coached debaters; the #1 thing I took away from it all is that you either have an innate knack for debate or not. You can develop your spreading, you can research until the sun fizzles away, but some people just do not have the awareness and competitive mindset necessary for successful debating.
This isn't limited to colleges - it is much more popular among high schools. You may see the National Forensics League website to learn more.
The reason I could do so well in debate was, aside from innate talents, because I knew how to deconstruct opposing arguments. The "K" (Kritique) in the video, which is the generic, prearranged argument of white life value that this team brought up, is characteristic of a common debate tactic using hyperbole. I had a box of over 500 Ks and several hundred more definitions for debate, but I almost never resorted to using them, except as an aside and in rhetorical fashion.
I avoided those landmines of logic. I am proof that you can outperform the rest in this debate format without resorting to cultural Marxism.

They'd run arguments like Time Cube, Flat Earth, Mao K, and then tie it all together with a Baudrillardian critique of news/articles. The general consensus about Policy is that you should make as many fair points as possible in an allotted period of time, such that there will be too many to categorically destroy the overall argument.
NFL Policy debate that is anything beyond amateur will contain spreading.
It just so happens to be that people would, in their rebuttals, often just say "I scrap that point" if the falsehood of some point were challenged by the opposing team when their turn had come around. Both teams are trying to use the clock as leverage.
The anti-white stuff might have been part of a broader argument, and used as something to consume time. The best way to confront this is to give a specific counter-proposal to any call to action a team makes, thus equalizing the teams' onus to talk in a substantive manner.
