1) Black Americans, and other minority racial groups, undoubtedly HAVE been fucked over by the past transgressions of our government and society. Blacks have never been truly given a fair economic foothold, from post emancipation where they were never given any tools to acquire job skills other than menial farm labor, to after WW2 when black veterans were denied better housing opportunities, to the systemic racism that still affects many areas of our country.
With that said, minorities have many protections and programs to help them these days.
As a huge liberal, I think it's time that we just come out and say it - yeah, we mistreated minorities... get over it. We're never going to give reparations. Being poor doesn't excuse murder and other heinous crimes. Yes - our country is hugely unfair to the working poor, and that needs to change. The top 1%, 5%, 10%, 15% of wealthy Americans DO NOT even pay their fair share of taxes, let alone give a little more to the working class who make their business profitable.
The funny thing is that blacks overhwelmingly favored Hillary, when in reality Sander's economic goals are MUCH more beneficial for black Americans as a whole. But they don't vote for him because he hasn't "courted them" properly. SMDH. This is so indicative of a broader problem in America, where people don't understand issues at all, and just vote for the politicians who make superficial promises to various groups.

On August 18, 1967, the State Police department swore in the first black trooper in the fifty-year history of the organization.[77]In May 1968, Detroit Mayor Cavanaugh appointed a Special Task Force on Police Recruitment and Hiring. No one was "given" tools, not the original settlers, not the Irish, the Italians and Eastern Europeans, not the Chinese. Not the Mexicans.
The real correlation is between poverty and crime. More and more manufacturing jobs become automated, less and less jobs become available, and more of Detroit's dominance over the car market is taken by the shit quality of vehicles their companies produce. Yeah, Detroit is a shit hole. But so are plenty of non- black, run down, impoverished cities.

How many of them were slaves? All those cultures you mentioned were much more developed than Africa. If the slaves had never been taken from Africa, they wouldn't have had to make their way in an American economy in which grunt laborers get shit on, skilled artisans and businessmen get to make a good living, and the elite wealthy ruling class get to live like kings could only ever dream of.
