Somehow, he's managed to be the most "productive" president in history. For better or worse, he has by a huge margin passed more laws that anyone before him. Honestly, if he wasn't so insistent on doubling down on the one thing that was most resisted (healthcare) he might even have a positive rating. I think the most lasting effect under his watch would be don't ask don't tell and gay marriage. People 100 years will point to that, and probably nothing else and I'm fine with that type social justice. That said, he betrayed his supporters, and badly. People believed he would be a true moderate, that he would stand up to his party as well as his opponents, that he would be transparent. In the end he did none of those things and people are so sick of professional politicians that Trump is a real possibility.
I for one, say bring it on, burn it all to the ground.

I get why all those crazy personal conduct rules are there. But it's really weird. The courts have ruled that a person can't choose to have their constitutional rights rescinded (there's some case about someone agreeing to become a slave or something idk). So why can the government rescind some of the first amendment rights of military people?

1 - The destabalization in the Middle East is at least 45% his fault. He lead the effort for the U.S. and NATO to literally fund what would become ISIS, take down multiple governments, etc.
2 - Thanks to his disasterous middle east foreign policy, US - Russian relations are in fucking shambles, as we've launched the beginnings of a second Cold War with proxy wars all along the middle east.
3 - The economy, after 8 years, while it has indeed stabilized, it has by no means even come close to levels it was at early-Bush. Way more people are on food stamps and welfare, the middle class recently fell to less than 50% of the population, the median income is way down.
4 - The affordable care act is a fucking disaster. Every day more and more people dislike it as it hurts the middle class for minimal lower class gains. Pharma and Med is still massively expensive, so it has effectively solved nothing.
5 - He has been extremely divisive. Not only is the U.S. more politically dividied than it has been in decades under his watch, race relations are at their worst since near the civil rights era. The former is largely due to his grandstanding and smug attitude, while the latter is largely due to his propensity to race bait, which he did with Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Ahmed Mohammed, way before the facts actually came out.
Those are the big 5 that I can think of off the top of my head. There are plenty more which fall more under the category of things he DIDN'T do. I really can't think of a single meaningful achievement other than maybe Osama Bin Laden.
