Once you've figured that out, decide if you need to go to school. Chances are, you probably will. If that something does turn out to be EE, go to the best school for EE that you can. Do the best you can in school. Make as many friends as you can in school. This is important for later on.
Once you are comfortable that you can get good grades in college and feel that you can take on more work, work internships or jobs that are as closely related to EE as possible, if not directly related. Do the best you can to build your image as a likable and valuable employee or intern, because if they don't have a job to offer you, they will sing your praises to someone who does - maybe that job comes from one of those college friends I mentioned earlier.

Being in a technical field, all my interviews have been technical, less centered around feel-good "where do you see yourself in 5 years" shit and more like "we have problem x, you have 10 minutes to make up a plan to solve it and we'll assess if it's good or not" and trying to assess problem solving mindset. >60% of people I knew in college took absolutely useless degrees for knowledge that's easily obtained with 5 minutes of Google.

I had two job offers three weeks before graduating. This was back in 2009 at the height of the recession. Comp sci major from top tier public univ. Dunno man, the market is hot for a lot of fields. Took at a job at 60K (2009), made 115K last year. Had 50K debt coming out, though, because working during college is a very retarded idea if you are majoring in a mentally challenging field like engineering or computer science at a challenging school. Take debt, bear down, work your ass off for a B in Calc 3, then make tons of money. That was my strategy. Paid off well, I guess.
