Democracy is a terrible idea. Society is, by and large, filled with retards. Stupid people should not be allowed to decide what happens to a society.

Democracy might be a good idea if voting required citizens to pass some sort of intellectual competency test, but that's "offensive", so morons get to destroy society.

Democracy is a disgusting relic that should be discarded if humanity is going to move forward. Only the intelligent elites should decide what happens to the world.

but also, there are flaws to every system, i think we should have a system in which we keep replacing leaders until we find a real head of state worth keeping, then keep him around until he turns shitty

Is that why America still stands while all dictatures throughout are gone? China will fall 30 years max. Guess who will still stand?

That's why America has a Republic, anon.

The establishment prevents people like Bernie or Trump from completely fucking up the country.

I agree. Universal suffrage was a mistake.

But in all seriousness OP you fail to recognize the fact that we live in a representative democracy. It's very different from direct/classical democracy where mass idiocy poses a genuine threat to the state. The point being that citizens elect representatives and an executive, who will express the general will of the population (basically what they want the state to do in general) but leaves most of the fine work to efficient technocrats. The technocrats do a great job, but are a thoroughly undemocratic way of running the state. Hence why so many people get upset about the eurocrats, they only answer very indirectly to the populace and can ignore the Doxa. For example : 4chan's current counter culture fascism would be disastrous for Western Civilisation, as would have been it's left wing populism 4 years prior. Technocrats are above these mood swings and will keep the state going in the right direction, even if vocal minorities are opposed to it. Should the majority (for example) elect Trump, he could do a few public retardations, but couldn't tank the US because of the Kafkaesque bureaucracy that is inherent to all modern states.

The unelected and neigh unaccountable bureaucracy is currently the biggest malignant tumor killing the US by a wide margin.
Currently over regulation and repeat regulation cost the US economy around 1.5 trillion dollars in lost growth a year.

The bureaucracy exists because it has been so effective in the past. Countries like France and England became the most powerful states of their era because of their reliance on bureaucracy. A unbureaucratic state would be a failure and incompetent (pre-westernised Russia, early-Austrian empire, Spanish crown). There is a reason every country that modernised chose bureaucracy over absolute centralised rule.

This. The amount of primary and caucus voters, people who are almost universally the ones are already part of parties to begin with, who don't even decide who they are voting for before seeing the ballot is insane, these people are not informed enough to have a stake in this country, let alone the people who only vote in Presidential elections.

America's fastest and most innovative times were when bureaucracy was never involved.

Even today the industries with the most growth are the ones that aren't heavily regulated.
And to reiterate the point.
The wasteful redundant and over reaching bureaucracy currently cost the American economy 1.5 trillion dollars in lost growth a year.

The problem is that the intelligent elites are always corrupt.

It's actually better to have the stupid masses making the decisions than to have the corrupt elite making the decisions.
