Is Hunter S. Thompson /pol/ approved?
>>67687143
I thought he was a degenerate pedo/snuff film maker???
>>67687460
we're all degenerates in our own way, Hunter was a pretty cool guy
>>67687460
He could possibly be defined as a degenerate. Not so much the other stuff.
He rode a Ducati before it was cool.
I approve.
liberal faggot
>>67687812
Was he though? I don't know if you could really define him as "liberal" exactly.
>>67687652
1. Get the tractor.
2. Start an engine.
3. Fuck then Russia.
Oh, he was most certainly a degenerate. But the fun kind.
Entertaining liberal faggot
The leftover remnants of the catalyst decade that set degeneracy to a new level...the 60's
He has nothing insightful to offer. Other than being fuel for a slightly entertaining movie, his life and writings suck cock.
The end
>>67687143
/k/ as fuck if anything
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHeSC_Ws5Ic
Also his books are really good, worth a read definitely.
>>67688584
Oh he's absolutely /k/ approved, no doubt about that.
>>67688584
I recently read The Rum Diary and I think the character in that book is very telling of the way Thompson felt later in life. I think he killed himself because he was getting old and he could no longer be that guy anymore. He didn't want to end up a feeble, irrelevant old man.
Nobody is /pol/ approved.
Hunter is me approved.
>>67689093
>Nobody
Pretty sure Trump is /pol/ approved
>>67687143
I approve of him, dude was based as fuck.
He'd probably disagree with a lot what we say here, but that shouldn't matter.
>>67687460
no proof of that
just some wild pedowood conspiracy about him being murdered cause he was doing a piece on the Hollywood pedo underground
>>67687460
No proof it was that Hunter. I wouldn't be surprised honestly. He killed himself right after someone linked to all that got busted.
>>67687970
First you'd need to know the definition of liberal, which is hard for most americans.
>>67689194
Yeah, but mainly because the shitstorm is so fun to watch.
>>67688979
Nah he was pretty wicked mentally and physically by the end. He totally found peace in an Alaskan town. Pretty sure he even ran for mayor. He was quite the novel character and well liked by the townsfolk
>>67690339
It was actually Colorado, not Alaska but yeah, he was obviously suffering from a lot of health problems due to the decades of drug and alcohol abuse.
>>67689630
And it's murky. Hunter wasn't necessarily a bad or a good guy, but his entire claim to fame was palling around with organized crime. Before this, the good/bad Hunter question centered on him accidentally recording a gang rape that was happening in an adjacent room that he didn't know was happening.
Read screwjack. It's him literally fucking some dude then strangling him to death
>>67687143
He was the worlds greatest degenerate
but he was our degenerate
>>67690617
I don't about "organized crime" unless you mean the Hell's Angels. I guess they count.
>>67690815
There had to be some on the campaign trail.
>>67690921
Fair enough, that's very possible.
>>67690617
>Before this, the good/bad Hunter question centered on him accidentally recording a gang rape that was happening in an adjacent room that he didn't know was happening.
What?
>>67687970
>>67687812
>>67689924
The definition of Liberal has changed dramatically, britbong. Hunter could be described as a Nixonian democrat, which, back in the day, was considered "liberal"
>>67687143
Nothing is /pol/ approved, we're not an advertising agency.
>>67687143
He was better as a cartoon character

"No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun — for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your (old) age. Relax — This won't hurt."[48]

>The definition of Liberal has changed dramatically
You mean political language has been corrupted by americans and become largely meaningless? Yes I agree.
>>67692773
Damn, that's fucking sobering.
>>67692794
>>You mean political language has been corrupted by americans and become largely meaningless? Yes I agree.
nope. All language changes over time
>>67687143
he did what he wanted to, represented actual freedom
American drea blah blah blah
how did he die? dr gonzo was a pseudonym of hunter s ?
>>67687143
This is the CBT board sorry.
>>67694853
He shot himself in his house back in 2005 I think. Raoul Duke was his most famous alter ego from his books. That's what the character in Doonesbury is based on.
>>67695503
fuck why? only seen fear and loathing whats his best read?
>>67688453
hells angels was pretty good
>tfw you will never get a police escort at 3am with a bunch of drunk bikers to get beer
>>67695738
>>67695920
Yeah, I'd say start with the Hell's Angels one and The Rum Diary.
>>67695738
he lived all he wanted to live
> Is Hunter S. Thompson /pol/ approved?
I'm interested in this. Fear and Loathing On The Campaign Trail was, ironically, what got me into American politics.
To me, he seemed like a mild leftist with conservative tendencies (guns, gender roles, etc.) I don't think he really belonged in either of the groups.
>>67687143
yesh
he kept it real
>>67696027
>>67696039
thanks boys, will check out. suicide is a mad thing
>>67696177
libertarian or classic liberal
not this marxist/liberal hybrid
