The entire purpose of those is to gauge who voters in their party would be most willing to turn out for in the general election. Is this faggot being deliberately obtuse? Anyone with a brain knows that this isn't a democracy. But then, the average moderner is an utterly simple person. Remember that old platitude, "Religion is the opiate of the masses"? Well, now the masses have more opiates than they can count. Video games, television, sports, alcohol, drugs, porn, social media - modern man doesn't have to think; he distracts himself until he dies. The average person would never give up his chosen distractions, which are so vital to the illusion that all is well in the universe. We are living Aldous Huxley's nightmare. No one will care when the best of us, those who notice what's really going on, are rounded up and disposed of. And why should they? The big game is on.

If the candidate that holds majority vote does not become the nominee then the process itself needs to change. That's literally all there is to it.

Luckily, this is one of those times that will basically have the party destroy itself because of this shit. Kind of a self-correcting problem. The main issue is that it also leads to uncontested democratic rule until people decide a new party needs to be formed.

Then the issue is somehow creating a new party without having the jew ashes of the GOP caked into the foundation.

>>
The primaries are to gauge the public's interest in candidates, because the party, typically, does not want to put someone who won't gain any votes. A person representing their party is likely to build an administration using key figures in said party. Ignoring who their voters want can cost them the election and some serious career advancement, and might even cause full scale riots, which is something I expect to happen when Bernie is denied the nomination, even if he doesn't get the delegates. Clinton supporters too, if she loses the general election to, say, Trump. Now whether or not the GOP will be petty and tell Trump to fuck off, even though he has so much support and may very well be a shoe-in regardless of which demo he faces, only time will tell.
>>

>>
>>67685284
nothing will stop him other than possible loser-laws (which i'm not versed in). Technically true. Just like it's technically true that anyone can be president.

But reality, the laws of physics, and statistical mathematics all work together to ensure not just anyone does become president. And if the Republicans ignore the will of their voters, then we will become a one-party system, one way or another.
>>
>>67685454
The parties are absolute bullshit too. This country wasn't founded by parties, it's not a 'new' phenomena by any means, but I consider it an affront to a government 'for the people, by the people', because it opens up the government to a lineage like the Bush or Clintons, which I don't think should be a thing; we're not a monarchy, so we should reject family dynasties on principal.

There's nothing anti democratic about it. The parties are private organizations and they don't have to let people vote. But like the matrix, if you give people the belief that they are making a meaningful impact on the decision, they are more likely to go along quietly. The two major parties know this and that's why the hold primaries.

The democracy comes in the general election. Unfortunately, the people have been conditioned by media to think that only two parties ever have a shot. But again, just because people are easily led, doesn't mean there isn't democracy.

GOP establishment BTFO. Cable news BTFO. There will be no brokered convention. Let's do some delegate math:

Trump with 673 (646 with another 15 plus 12 coming from Missouri). Cruz has 431 (405 with another 25 coming from Missouri).

Total GOP delegates = 2472
Needed to win = 1237
Delegates remaining = 1057
Delegates Trump needs to win = 564

Trump needs to win 53% of the remaining delegates. He's won 48% of allocated delegates thus far, but that was with many other candidates in the field. Now there are just three candidates left. Also, Trump has solid leads in California, Arizona, New York, and New Jersey. (These are winner take all except for NY, but getting 50% vote in NY means winner take all). That is 376 delegates right there, giving Trump a total of 1049 delegates. Trump would then need a mere 188 delegates out of the remaining 681 delegates in play.

>>
>>67686452

Pretty much.

I went to Pittsburgh during the G20 summit several years ago because I was an unemployed student at the time and didn't have something better to do.

They had created areas you could pass through freely but were still walled off for traffic and so forth. Inside of that were more severely fenced off areas that required passing through checkpoints, metal detectors, and dogs. Most of the downtown area was closed and some of it even empty.

They'll create rings of security, getting more and more secure as you get closer to the actual event. Streets will be closed and so forth.

I didn't get into any of the riots or POLICE BRUTALITY you can look up on YouTube or whatever. There was a large police presence everywhere but none of them interacted with me all day.

They way the political system is set up in the U.S, it's nearly impossible for a third party to get any sort of foothold in. The fact that the people can chose who leads the established party is basically the only thing that makes your country democratic.

There are no super delegates in the GOP. Delegates are bound by law to vote for whoever won their state, which is Trump is most cases.

Trump will win by delegate votes, denying that is delusion. The only way he can not get the nomination is if the GOP goes against Trump and destroys their own party.

Agreed. I always argue that Huxley did a better dystopian future than Orwell. Super PACs will "save" the GOP.
Trumps wins all good GOP backs him officially.
unofficially GOP gets a super PAC to run a Conservative indy candidate to stop him.
GOP keeps there hands clean by listening to the people and supporting their choice, while making sure that he doesnt win and they get a better choice next time.

>>

So no matter what you get to choose between two pre-selected establishment shills who will do whatever they're told with no direction from the public?

How is that democracy? The people have no power in this.

Trump needs to get almost 60% of remaining delegates to avoid this situation.

This was supposed to be a winnable election.

Hillary is an incredibly weak candidate, with tons of baggage, no message, no outsider credentials, and no enthusiasm. Pretty much any Republican candidate could win against her

If they stole the nomination from Trump, they'd be throwing the election. Tons of pissed-off voters, seeing the same people controlling both parties, will go home, blank vote, third-party vote, or write-in Trump.
>>

No.look, the problem here is that Trump will finish with more delegates than anyone but will still have fewer than half of the delegates.republican rules require a brokered convention when no single candidate wins a majority of the delegates.

It's exactly what they want. Hillary is as much of a Neo-Con as the others with a sprinkle of racial violence advocacy.

Trump is a problem because he is an outsider who can and will go through and weed out the entrenched interests of both parties. I can only laugh when I see people try to scream that Cruz is the real anti-establishment candidate.
