Like other guy said, we call them all South Asians simply Asians because they're the most common Asians over here, and because we've historically had big relations with that area, since much of South Asia was part of the Empire.
Not to mention we have boatloads of Indians, Paki, and Bengal folk over here. It would be inaccurate to call all of them Pakis or Indians.
