Good thred. I've just started to learn german a few weeks ago. My first language is russian and looks like german is a little mixture of english and russian as far as basic concepts go.
Like english is very strict (almost dumb) and not very creative. Russian is more fluid and irrational. German is somewhere inbetween.
I mean things like objects having gender, verbs changing, depending on the pronouns, little words like "doh", "mal" that cant be translated to english directly, but have analogies in russian.
I have a question for germanbros tho. I struggle to understand the concept of a pronouns "sie". As far as I understand, its directly translated as "they" but you refer politely to smeone as "they" or refer to women as "they", right?
