Some dialects of Hungarian basically sound like a very distant Finnish that I can't understand at all, just that the rhythms and pronounciations are similar. Same with Estonian but to a much higher degree. I've met Estonians who have learned Finnish in like a year of living in Finland, and Finns who have learned Estonian in the same amount of time.

Not a meme. Finno-Urgics are Siberian Mongoloids. Its where (some) Russian and Baltic Mongoloidism comes from also.
Hungary were conquered by the Golden Horde, but DNA tests say they left a much smaller Genetic footprint, and that you are similar to most western Slavs genetically. So only the Urgic language is really the main link now, though I can surely see some mongoloid traits in many Magyars I think.
