This is basically true. When we first moved to the states, I was like 5 and didn't have any problems, but both my parents and my older sister said they felt weird when they were treated differently than white people were.
I'd assume this is the way for most Asian people, but at least in my experience, Asians believe that they're literally the same as white people. Not necessarily in looks, but in hierarchy and status and such. They see Europe and the US as being "on par" with Asian, not above it, which it is. So it's definitely a culture shock to a lot of Asians when they realise that no, white people don't necessarily like you and they don't really want you in their countries. Which can then lead to a lot of resentment coming from asians.

One of the biggest problems with Asians in the west is the divisiveness. Other Asians actually think it's okay to bring the divisiveness from Asia to here in the west.
If you're Asian you need to adopt a Pan-Asian mentality. We're all in this together. If they discriminate us (which they often do), we need the unified voice to oppose them.
Then there is the dating. It's all an uphill battle because we have to operate multi-culturally but a vast majority of people do not want that. Women get the advantage b/c guys in general do not care, so they're going to gravitate to sources of power (either financial or physical).
