There is NO CHANCE for Sanders now. He HAD to win Ohio or maybe Illinois on the worse case scenario.
Now his current chances are between FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE to MAYBE IF A MIRACLE HAPPENS, he lost so hard on the south that he should win by landslides in the next 9 states before New York AND then Win by a large margin to even had a chance to ended up winning the delegate count.
But the democratic primaries don't have winner take all states, so Sanders NEEDS to start winning by landslides and that isn't going to happen, the next 9 states have all polls that favor Sanders but he needs to outperforms ALL the polls and Win 3:1 on every single one to reach to NY with chances.

The current leftist government was never elected by anyone. It was appointed by the former president of the republic Giorgio Napolitano after the the first center-left governent, and the two following technical ones, all fell after being unable to govern and pass legislation. It's political legitimacy still comes from the 2013 general election, in which we had a shit-ton of people that didn't vote, and the democratic party barely won with a handful of votes over the two other coalitions. This scenario could be hardly seen as the picture of a leftist country.
Also, what you describe as "fact" on gay marriage isn't really. We never had a public referendum on the subject like in Slovenia, only polls held by the leftist media.
