Race has hardly been on Bernie's platform at all, it was only pushed into his platform because he has been harassed so much by BLM.
Prior to that, the only things he really mentioned about race is that the war on drugs is incarcerating POC at rates higher than whites even though both whites and blacks use drugs at almost identical rates.
It's part of his arguement for justice system reform and ending the war on drugs.

I think if the worst case scenario happens and Trump gets cheated by the GOP, an independent Trump/Sanders ticket would be a decent last stand. Let Sanders benefit from the Trump umbrella of publicity and have him go ham fucking wild over issues like Wall Street corruption and job loss. He can also then freely call out Democrat super delegates as being corrupt bullshit since he doesn't have to court them. Trump is also fairly moderate/flexible on values issues and the two could probably compromise on at least some major ones. Universal Healthcare is another decent uniter.
