This, the Imperial War Museum in London underwent a refurbishment in 2013 (IIRC, maybe 2014) where they put all the actual historical items (guns, bombs, bullets, bloodstained shirts, helmets with bullet holes etc) into long term storage and replaced it all with "living history" exhibits where a plastic mannequin stands in a poorly lit room while a voiceover tells you the blitz was bad.
Thankfully IWM Duxford (which is much closer to me) is untouched by this bullshit (so far at least) and is still 99.9% tanks and planes. Also a fantastic exhibit with a real flak jacket, tommy gun and helmet you can try on and actually feel the weight of them.

Duxford is incredible though. They have a hanger dedicated to American aircraft. It has a B-52, SR-71, U-2, F15 and a bunch of other shit. They also have flying DC-3s and Spitfires along with a fleet of functioning ground vehicles.
I would also highly recommend Bovington which is dedicated to tanks. It has the world's only functioning Tiger I, along with something like 40 other fully functioning tanks. Also the TOG II* which is so fucking huge you really need to see it in person to comprehend it.
