No, Bernie's plan involves using an FTT to fund tuition-free public college, similar to how the public university system of California used to work. Unfortunately FTTs have blown up hard in other countries that tried them (Sweden, Finland), so it would be pretty tough to accomplish. Plus it's America, so the financials interests aren't going to give up their hold on power without a fight; I wouldn't be surprised if they tanked the economy on purpose if an FTT were passed without significant reforms in banking beforehand.

I'm sure you can understand it; people often vote for things that don't benefit them directly. Bernie's plan is flawed but he has the right idea. A society built on the debt slavery of the young isn't going anywhere. Trump's approach to this same problem is to bring back blue collar work at a living wage. Bernie's is publicly funded education like Western Europe.
Frankly I don't think either of these approaches are going to do anything against an increasingly globalized economy, and automation.

There's been a lot of misinformation, and now people are catching on. So lets help Americans out and fix the problem right away. Don't just leave em in the dirt. Kids are 16-17 signing paperwork for private loans with ignorant parents that want to see their kids in school.
But I get you. Arguably liberal art education may not benefit society like trade schools or stem. But let's solve the issue. And not just help out art school students. People who paid their loans, could get a return on payment.
I know it will never happen, but I'd like to see this problem solved. You can't just give up on someone because they went to art school.
