He's easily the smartest and the best candidate but his campaign fucked up in Iowa. He gave his opposition all the ammo they needed to derail his momentum.
Also, Rubio and Kasich are literally only in this race to keep the vote divided and make sure that both Cruz and Trump don't achieve enough delegates to succeed. Cruz is most certainly not an establishment candidate.
