At this point, could /pol/ survive any outcome other than Donald Trump becoming the next president?

When the majority of the posts on /pol/ at any given moment are people praising him, is there any way back once he's no longer relevant?

Could any American survive if martial law is declared?
>>
>>67390472
Probably. It mean, it wouldn't be the first time. People were pretty chill when they had to shut down Boston to look for the bishounen bomber.
>>
>>67390287
It will survive, but it would take years to process it. Trump is the only hope at the restoration of the USA, any other candidate would only do four years of extra damage. On the upside, 4y of Hitlary would ensure a 2020 Trump presidency.

I think you're overestimating how many people are unhappy enough with our current system to rock the boat. On the whole, people think things could be better, but they're not lining up to move to other countries either. America is still the greatest country on Earth.

Well, here in Europe it's even harder to gain objective information, our public channels are basically socialist state propaganda. But, if I understand correctly, you don't think Trump will win? What I have seen from his rallies and the primaries/caucuses results, he's on a pretty good track, wouldn't you agree?
>>
>>67390287
Honestly, I'm starting to wonder what will happen to /pol/ if Trump DOES become president.

This board's traffic will collapse, we'll run out of things to talk about because we'll have won for a change.
>>
>>67391568
He has a segment of the population very excited, but he's also split the Republican base, and I doubt he'll find much traction with registered democrats, even Blue Dogs.

People that you can count on to come out and vote for you on election day are worth a lot, but he's behind one hell of a demographic 8-ball.
>>
I just don't see any other outcome. Trump losing isn't in mind, I doubt he considers it a possibility either. That's why he has bet his entire life and legacy on his campaign, his entire bloodline has led up to this moment and there's no backing down. If he loses, he will forever be ashamed and remembered as a loser. He will be remembered like Clay, a funny attempt at disruption. I don't know how he would handle it because he obviously hasn't prepared to handle it, he's in it to win.

Again, I can't see him losing. It's very likely that Hillary will drop out in October after falling into 3rd place behind Jill Stein. I'm predicting that Trump takes 65% of the popular vote, most blue states turn red, and most red states turn blue. Not that he wins over the hearts of 65% of Americans, I just think that the people who hate him won't be voting as much as the 30% that likes him.

Hm, may be, but the left is sperging out like a rabid dog, they wouldn't do that if he wasn't a danger to them. Anyways, keep faith, Trump will have the end victory.

I have been thinking about this a lot as well, why has the right/alt-right, white nationalists and the like put so many eggs in the one basket, very flawed basket.

Looking at the recent past though, when the republican party was at its weakest and most pathetic the actual 'right' or the conservative movement dramatically increased in intensity and managed to succesfully adapt and rally around new banners. The tea party is a great example, it rose simultaneous to the disastrous 06 results and the 08 Mccain campaign. But by 2014 the right were stronger in the congress than ever in the post war period. Other examples are after the NIxon collapse we got the Reagan movement begining in '76, after Bush senior fell we rallied and got congress in 94.

I think it is best to view trump as a giant megaphone for right now for our views. If he fails it will hurt for a bit but we will learn, recover and move on. Tqbh I am almost as worried about him winning as him losing because I don't think it is all that clear that the criticism that people like Shapiro lob at Trump is wrong.

>is there any way back

We would shift back into waiting for the end of times as usual, knowing the world blew its last best chance for another 4+ years.
>>
>>67392197

you spend way too much time on /pol/. trump has way exceeded expectations no doubt, but he's going to need a combination of absurd turnout for him and a lack of turnout for dems to even stand a chance. too polarizing to have a legitimate chance in a general election.
>>
He's already done his job. Energized life into the altright. At this point, it doesn't even matter if he's elected. In fact, in a lot of ways it will be better if he's not.
>>
>>67392137
I don't see the Stein scenario you've described happening. Hillary has the entirety of the Democratic establishment behind her.

Most of /pol/ would kill themselves if he lost, so the board would slow to a crawl, then shut down.

LUCKILY TRUMP GOIN ALL THE WAY, FAGGOT.

Will they stand behind her after America has to hear about her history every day of their lives? I can't see them being that shameless and devoted. Stein can still be controlled, Trump can't.
>>
>>67392506
He's really not that bad. All of their news of him is second hand. Once they hear stuff straight from the source they won't be so hostile. You over estimate the dems power. Half the dem base hate Hillaries guts too.
>>
>>67392919
People have been hearing about Benghazi and the emails for years now. It hasn't torpedoes her campaign yet. If they don't care yet, they probably won't care in October.

I think most Democrats have written it off as the GOP trying to get their strongest potential opponent out of the way before the primaries even began.
>>
>>67393399
A manufactured controversy, basically. The way they latched onto "what difference does it make" entirely out of context didn't help strengthen their position.
>>
>>67393254
I think you over estimate the the slight distaste for Hillary that some dems have over their hate for Trump, you have to remember that the political game in America had been engineered to be side based, it appeals to simple minds, I have heard more than one person say they will vote dem no matter the nominee just because, and that's how the system is designed, it's all about feels, especially on the dem side of things. Trump will more then likely lose, even if they don't broker the convention against him. Although he is projected to lose to Shillary anyway, so not sure if they will bother either way.
>>
>>67391207
I think you're overestimating how many people are reddit-tier faggots outside of the largest metro areas.

Your arrogance is going to cost you.
>>
>>67394501
Maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle and neither the far right or the far left are accurate representations of the average American's political views.
>>
>>67392506
Politically marginalized people are coming out of the woodwork to vote for Trump in the millions, and more every day.

People are coming out to vote for Trump who haven't voted for 20, 30, 40 years or more.

You want to know who's unelectable, look at Hillary. Her support is the real meme of this election, too many people remember her from 20 fucking years ago. Too many people know about Mena Arkansas. Too many people know about Bill's plane trips to sex slave island and biting women's faces off and a lot of people now know that of the two, Hillary is by far the more vicious sexual predator.

These aren't viewpoints that ever get expressed in the mainstream, but hundreds of millions o people know about it.
>>
>>67395069
The fact that she's still the front runner suggests people either don't put much stock in those sorts of stories, or don't care even if they are true.

I've never met anyone outside of the fringe right who actually thinks Hillary Clinton murdered Vince Foster.
>>
>>67392201
Trump goes beyond just simple left and right politics. He's literally the only one running who doesnt want to get rid of the border and legalize every last illegal immigrant.

The issue is that this is something that should have happened 40 years ago. Strong borders has always supposedly been a right wing position, but now the conservatives are more open borders than the democrats. If the right had just kept their promises, or at least attempted to, Trump would never have happened.
