how is that possible? Are they subsidied? If yes then thats good.
Here in Europe the coal miners are subsidied so much you could fire them all and close down both the mines and power plants, and still could pay their monthly wages fully from the subsidies and would save some money.

Yeah and it's also been 10,000 years since the last ice age, were overdue for one since they've been fairly cyclical for the last couple million years. Another ice age means glaciers covering half of the northern hemisphere, which is a lot worse than building levies for major coastal cities.
