Now it's all about identity politics and safe spaces and all of this narcissistic, autocratic bullshit. That kind of element was always present, but it was always taking the backseat to things like opposing war, standing for civil rights, and trying to guarantee healthcare. Now it's at the forefront, and everything is shit. Watching people trying to peddle their original sin/privilege narratives, calling the first amendment racist, etc. I just can't do it anymore.

I don't feel like it's that simple. Leftism is becoming associated with its loudest members. You hear about SJWs because they're loud, where as classical liberals -- which I think comprise a far larger portion of "the left" are minding their own business.
