People decide on their own what they respect. It can be earned or freely given depending on whose respect you want, but you can't demand it as a right.
i have had help from my parents and social network getting to where I am in my career, but that doesn't mean I wasn't working my ass off, popping adderall to stay awake and crunch numbers, and always showing up on time, 5 days a week to get where I am. Anyone can do what I did with a foot in the door, and that just takes getting noticed. Screaming at Trump rallys that everyone is racist for not hiring you is not how you accomplish this.

Nobody's entitled to respect, but everyone is entitled to common courtesy, granted they conduct themselves in a civil manner.
And while SJWs are a cancer, common courtesy between individuals could be better - and no particular group is the culprit, though some can be worse than others.
