I haven't been paying much attention to US presidential race up until now, and I'm seeing that Bernie get's quite a coverage on teh webz recently.
What I'd like to know:

His supporters claim that Bernie will bring about a "revolution" and other people who think like him will take over congress so that free shit will get passed. The problem with this is that he's doing absolutely NOTHING to help in those races. Compare this to Hillary who is contributing to Democratic races across the country.

Thankfully, OP, we do not have to go by his statements. Bernie has a long career in the Senate and you can look over his record.
He votes with the Democrat Party like a machine. The Democrat Party is the party of banksters and slumlords (Republicans are old money and magnates). Then after he behaves like every other good party line Democrat he walks out to a crowd of teenagers and talks to them about socialism.

He looks legit, but his voting record not so much - he seems to have consistently voted with Democrat party line. There's a possibility that he was "invented" by Dem establishment to prevent disillusioned voters from switching to Republicans, especially a dark horse like Trump.
It's possible, but unlikely. Democratic Party has a "superdelegate" system - there are delegates chosen directly by party elite along these elected in primaries (and superdelegates are guaranteed to support Clinton). Thus, he would require unrealistically large majority over Clinton in primaries.
Hard to tell. Standard political predictions do not apply in election like this. IMO he could beat an establishment Republican like Rubio or Kasich, but would have a much harder time against Trump.

The best thing going for him is his track record of always keeping to his principles. Both Hillary and Trump lie and change positions as they see fit but Bernie has been pretty consistent.
