Why do reddit liberals always try to use this image against Trump? It only proves his point that there is a problem when it is cheaper to make clothes in another country than the one they're intended to be sold in.

So raising tariffs will just make everything expensive.

Liberals believe America should be more like Mexico.

do you really think that?

>It only proves his point that there is a problem when it is cheaper to make clothes in another country than the one they're intended to be sold in.

Of course it is fucking cheaper to make it in other countries, Americans actually expect to be paid for their work, as where you can put children to work in other countries for 5 cents a week. If the solution to bringing manufacturing back to America is to have Americans work for pennies a day, no thanks.

Get fucked, cuck.

Raising Tariffs will strengthen the buying power of every dollar in your bum pocket so you can afford more "expensive" goods that aren't cheap crap made in Mexican sweatshops by literal starving children.

You fucking love supporting 3rd world slavery, huh? That's just great. Maybe if Hillary wins with your dedicated support, you'll like it even better when AMERICA is the 3rd world country and YOUR CHILDREN become livestock right in front of your eyes, slaving away to make European bankers and financiers rich on the continent their forefathers conquered.

Pathetic.

as of 2015 it was no longer cheaper for companies to manufacture in China than in the US, yet none of those jobs are coming back.
Instead, even more of our automobile manufacturing left the country.

If Trump just recalled 30% of those manufacturing jobs from China and gave them back to Americans, a lot of people would have a better life. Thats literally ALL he has to do in a 4 year term and people would consider it a success.

Economists have already noted raising tariffs is a horrible fucking idea. Trade goes both ways, if we make it less appealing for countries to do business with America, they won't. Remember how well high tariffs worked out for the British against the colonies?
>>
>>67203475
Obviously. If goods could be made cheaper here, then they would be. They aren't made here because it's more expensive, and by forcing companies back to the U.S., you're forcing them to make their products more expensive to make, and thus more expensive to sell.

>>67203811
You do know that a stronger dollar means it's even cheaper to make something overseas right?
>>
>>67204039
>Economists have already noted raising tariffs is a horrible fucking idea.

The same economists who predicted 2008, right?

Not the ones who lead their clients right off a fiscal fucking cliff, you don't mean those economists, surely . . .

>You do know that a stronger dollar means it's even cheaper to make something overseas right?

As opposed to a weaker dollar which makes things more expensive FOR AMERICANS.

Tell you what, give me all your money, that'll weaken your dollars, you dumbfuck.

You really have absolutely no clue what you're talking about, do you?

You heard the term "strong dollar" and decided you knew what the word "strong" meant, and that meant you knew more about international trade than people who spend 20-30 years studying it, right?
>>
>>67204318

Again, tell me how high tariffs worked out for the British Empire when the imposed them on the colonies?
>>
>>67204039
Not that guy but:
the thing is, America doesn't really need to trade, and when it does trade its mostly a seller/providing. Its arguably the best country geographically, and it has a crazy amount of business infrastructure that could be brought back within its border. Instead we allow our business to exploit the world for higher profits, but its not actually good for our country anymore.

The US gained a considerable amount of economical strength to rival European nations all while being mostly isolationist. It has a huge geographical advantage that most countries can't even hope to match in their best dreams.

>horrible idea
yeah it is, if you're a corporate CEO milking the world for extra cash or a politician who takes bribes from such CEOs.

If you're middle or lower class, having jobs would ultimately be better for you. And if you're worried no trade would occur, it still would because the US makes a lot of things other nations would want: airplanes, military equipment, weaponry etc etc.
>>
>>67204850
I could also add the US grows the majority of the world's soy beans/corn and a few other crops, as well as is one of the largest meat producers.

It has so much economical leverage that everything wouldn't fall apart just because you brought some manufacturing back home and strengthened the dollar a bit.
