It does not follow the rules of a traditional fighting game. No health bar, no highs and lows, no motions, the game has to be played in very specific way to be considered competitive, and a whole bunch of other dumb shit. Broadening the definition of a fighting game is a pretty progressive/ anti-/pol/ thing to do. That being said, I have nothing against melee players, but they need to stop pretending that their game is a fighting game. It is at its core a party game that created rules to male the game competitive.
